About St. Georges Technical High School

A Message From Our Principal

"Welcome to St. Georges Website! We are embarking on several new initiatives as well as continuing to open up additional areas of our building.

As you may already know, SGTHS is a member of the Vision 2015 Network and we are focusing on improving studentsÂ’ reading comprehension by providing teachers with weekly professional development training regarding Before, During and After reading strategies. These strategies narrow in on vocabulary development, graphic organizers to organize student thinking and to categorize information, and strategies to interact with the text, such as margin notes and dialoging with the author."

St. Georges Technical High School, a 1,000-pupil facility for grades 9 to 12, is one of four comprehensive vo-tech high schools administered by the New Castle County Vocational Technical School District.

St. Georges opened November 27, 2006 with the first ninth grade class of approximately 260 students. Capacity is approximately 1,000 students, grades 9 to 12 (by 2009-10 school year).

We are located west of Delaware Route 1 and south of the C & D Canal on 113 acres in rural Middletown, Delaware. The school structure covers seven acres with 80 classrooms, including science and career labs.
